Welcome To The Bullpen

I’d like to be the first to welcome everyone to The Bullpen – a sports filled, booze induced, gambling den of exactly what you come to the internet for: entertainment. If you’ve ever had the absolute pleasure of being a Division III baseball relief pitcher like me, you’re familiar with the bullpen and everything that comes with it. For those of you who decided they didn’t want to spend their college career playing in front of no fans for no glory, allow me to explain.

The bullpen is a place where anything and everything is on the table to talk about. Hell half of us hadn’t pitched in an actual game in over a month, so we did everything we could to keep our mind off the game. What’s going on at the bar tonight? How much money does Mikey owe to his bookie now? There’s absolutely no shot that Colin hooked up with Jen last night she’s an absolute rocket!

The point is, we had a bunch of waiting around to do, and we spent our time in the pen trying to figure out ways to pass the time while avoiding all of the things our coaches wanted us to do. Now, a lot of us are grown up and we’re used to a different kind of bullpen: the office bullpen. Sure it’s inside, and you’re not sitting in 25 degree weather watching Ryan give up his 3rd bomb of the inning, but instead of a quick 4 years we might spend 40 years in this bullpen. And bosses get your full day, not just the couple hours of practice. And so everyone points their screen to the corner of their cube so no one walking by can see, and takes off for websites that talk sports, girls, gambling, drinking… Escapes from the every day.

That’s what I aim to do here with The Bullpen. Much like baseball, life can be long and soul-crushingly boring at points. But I’m going to do my best to bring you all some entertaining, funny, relatable content that will get you through your days, and make your time in the pen a little easier. So without further ado (what a weird phrase) let’s get going.

I'm a low effort, high results kinda guy. Will defend Philly sports to the death. Terrible at sports betting, love to bet anyway. Big fan of making bad choices and hoping for the best.
